His movies, whether you like them or not, have influenced more comedy filmmakers than anyone else. His first movie, REAL LIFE was the first mocumentary. He was the first to play his own name in a motion picture as a comedy character. Fifteen years before Seinfeld or Curb or any of them. A brilliant career. I just love Gervais, and think his dry sense of humor is great! He can make me laugh every time. I never have been a big Brooks fan, but have not seen the movie with Streep, whom I am a fan of.
